Operational focus

Specialist Transport for High-Risk and Regulated Cargo

Dangerous goods require more than ordinary freight booking. They demand accurate cargo identification, route planning, carrier approval, compliant documentation and careful coordination between the shipper, consignee, freight carrier, port, terminal and customs authorities.

MIDTRANS has managed demanding cargo categories including corrosive chemicals, flammable industrial liquids, petrochemical materials, fertilizers, industrial oils, chemical feedstocks and substances requiring transport in purpose-selected ISO tank containers.

Our historical project experience includes the maritime transport of significant quantities of hydrofluoric acid from India to Syria in leased ISO tanks, coordinated with international project logistics partners and delivered as part of a major petrochemical industrial development.

Sea, Air and Road Options for Regulated Cargo

Regulated Cargo by Sea

MIDTRANS arranges regulated sea movements through container, ISO tank, breakbulk and other approved shipping solutions. Our experience covers chemical and petrochemical loads moving from Europe and East Asia to Tartous, Jebel Ali and other Middle Eastern ports, as well as shipments from India to regional markets including Egypt and Alexandria.

Where appropriate, cargo may be routed through ports such as Jebel Ali, Tartous, Latakia, Alexandria, Damietta, Port Said and Sokhna, subject to current carrier schedules, port restrictions and cargo acceptance.

Regulated Cargo by Air

For urgent or high-value regulated consignments, MIDTRANS coordinates air freight according to the applicable airline and IATA requirements. Before booking, the classification, permitted quantity, packaging instructions, documentation and aircraft limitations must be verified.

Regulated Cargo by Road

MIDTRANS also coordinates regulated overland movement across the UAE, GCC, Jordan, Syria, Turkey and connected Middle Eastern routes. Road movements are planned according to classification, vehicle suitability, border procedures, transit permissions and the regulations applicable along the selected route.

Compliance-Led Shipment Planning

Regulated transport begins with verified information. Before proposing a route or issuing a confirmed offer, MIDTRANS may request:

  • Current Safety Data Sheet
  • UN number and proper shipping name
  • Hazard class and subsidiary risk
  • Packing group
  • Flash point, where applicable
  • Cargo composition and concentration
  • Package type and specifications
  • Gross and net weight
  • Number and capacity of packages or tanks
  • Shipper’s declaration, where required
  • Emergency contact information
