Midtrans Shipping And Services was founded in Damascus in 1998 by Khaldoun Al-Khouli, extending an Al-Khouli family freight and transit heritage that began in Syria in 1960. The second generation was Salim Deeb Al-Khouli. Land Freight and Cross-Border Trucking
Land freight moves commercial and industrial cargo by truck from the loading bay to the consignee, crossing borders under transit procedure without handing the cargo to another mode. MIDTRANS arranges Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less than Truck Load (LTL) movements, matches the trailer to the cargo, prepares the consignment note and transit paperwork each crossing calls for, and follows the vehicle through to unloading.
A road-only option leaves out the port entirely. Trucks load at Jebel Ali, cross Saudi Arabia, enter Jordan and reach Syria, continuing on to Lebanon or Turkey; we use it for consignments that have to arrive in one movement and for loads that do not justify a full container at sea.
